Wiggly Photog

So, it looks like Wiggly has caught the bug....

This might have been his “aha!” (I just took a picture) moment.

He then went on to bigger, better lit things.

This was my “aha!” moment. He's figured out how to use the camera on the phone???

  Recompose.

  His take of Cheep Cheep.

His take of Daddy and Mommy at Ee-i-ee-i-o.

His take of Mommy at one of our favorite Korean/Vietnamese joints.

  Hold the camera Mommy.

  Showing off our new haircut.

He claims he was taking a pic of Mr. S. on this photo.
 I say he has a
fascination for his foot.

He's also taking a hand in videography.

The opportunity is definitely there. We'll see where this one leads to.

OCC volunteer

I came across this picture on our church's website.

Behold our church's youngest Operation Christmas Child volunteer!

Ms. L. took this picture unbeknownst to the three of us.
Ms. L's words: “Just had to show this picture of our youngest Operation Christmas Child volunteer. Little 3 year old “Wiggly” was so excited about helping pack the shoe boxes for shipping!"

I was very pleasantly surprised to see the picture :)
It was indeed amusing and heart warming to hear my son huffing and puffing carrying those shoe boxes here and there, all the time saying, “I can do this by myself,” or “I can get this one Mommy!”or “this one fit in here Mommy.” He was very willing to be our gofer at the same time. He ran here and there to get tape, scissors, rubber bands, throw stuff in the trash can... just whatever he could do to help, he did.
His Daddy did a lot of huffing and puffing too that day – carrying the big boxes down the stairs. Oi!

It was a great day! Thanks to Ms. S. for allowing us to help.

Sheer high!

Please allow Wiggly and his cousin to show you the way.

Step 1: Cousin M gives Wiggly a mighty push

Step 2: Cousin M ducks and gets out of the way

Step 3: Wiggly squeals with delight

Step 4: Nice happy smile from Wiggly asking for some more.

Here's for some good news from the adoption world this month of November.

Happy National Adoption Month!

Heard from Wiggly

I was walking by Wiggly's room last week and over heard Wiggly telling his Daddy this:
“I'm thinking of a song for Bebe Boder Daddy.”
Daddy: “Oh, that's good Bud.”
What does Wiggly mean? Well, we sing Wiggly's name (spelling) to the tune of
“Old MacDonald had a farm.” W-I-G-G-L-Y Wiggly is my name.
“Mommy or Daddy” to the tune of Bingo: M-O-M-M-Y, M-O-M-M-Y, and Mommy is name-o.
(This idea from another adoptive mom)
We still haven't found a song to sing Bebe Boder's name to.

Daddy: “What does Daddy do?”
Wiggly: "Work on the computer downstairs."

Daddy: "What does Mommy do?"
Wiggly: "Do ditches." (HA!)

What's your favorite color? Wiggly: "Green"

What do you like most about PJ? "My peanuts and chocolate coffee beans."

What do you like most about GM? "GUMMY BEARS!"

At AWANA:

Who do you love? "My Grandma."

Who else do you love? "My PJ."

Daddy's response: "What are we? Chopped liver?"

What places do you like to see. "I like to see tractors."
Where do you go to see tractors? "My grandpa driving tractors."

Wiggly addressing a fellow Cubbie: “Shh, be quiet. Sit down.”

At story time:
Librarian: "Does your Mommy watch you sleep?"

Wiggly: "NO!" (Emphatically)

Mommy: "Who's your cousin that makes you laugh the most?"
Wiggly: "You."
Mommy: "But I'm not your cousin. I'm your Mommy."
Wiggly: "You make me laugh Mama."
Mommy: Aww. (Melt my heart)

Mommy: "So really, who's the cousin the makes you laugh the most?"
 Wiggly: "M."

Mommy: "Who's your favorite cousin?"
Wiggly: "Wevi."

 Who's your favorite Uncle?
Wiggly: "Uncle Tony."

Who's your favorite Aunt?
Wiggly: "Uncle Wiwing."

Mommy: "What do you want to be when you grow up?"
Wiggly: "I want to drive a combine like J."

3 wks ago:
Mommy: "What's your favorite ice cream?"
Wiggly: "Chocolate mint."

Today:
Mommy: "What's your favorite ice cream?"
Wiggly: "Cookies and cream."
Mommy: "But I thought mint chocolate was your favorite."
Wiggly: "No, eh cookies and cream now."

What's your favorite movie?
Wiggly: "Thomas, Pororo and Polli."

Wiggly when imitating anything that PJ does: “Mommy, I'm doing like PJ dos.”

The first week we got Ole Blue:

Wiggly: "Mama, I like your new vehicle." (Repeat 2-3 times per day)

One early morning in bed:

Daddy: "Buddy, stop kicking me. Stop putting your legs on me."
Wiggly: "But Daddy, you're too comftable."

Zip related:
Wiggly:  "Mommy look, Zip is nice and cozy now."
(This after he wrapped puppy with a magazine for a blanket.)

 Regarding Bebe Boder:
Mommy: "Where is Bebe Boder right now?"
Wiggly: "Korea."

On random days: Wiggly: "Mommy, I miss Bebe Boder."

Yesterday: "Mommy, when Bebe Boder gets here, we're going to trade bathrooms. This will be my bathroom (talking about the old bathroom that's being renovated), and Bebe Boder going to have my bathroom over there. "
(his current bathroom.)

For the record:
Mommy does come in to watch her big boy sleep.

And sleep he does!

Bugaroo, I love you more than words can say.

Is it Christmas yet?

Because somebody in our house is ready for Christmas to be here.
Wiggly wore this pajama set 4 days in a row before it could be put in the wash.
The fact that the pants are green might have something to do with it.

On second thought, we sang Christmas songs yesterday with him “playing” on the piano.
Actually we were singing Christmas songs into July.
Then we attended a friend's baptism where we sang "Victory in Jesus" and the Christmas songs got replaced by Victory in Jesus.

We bought some Christmas books (at a consignment sale) couple weeks ago along with these Christmas Pjs (which he found for himself) and what does he ask to read first?
 “Baby Jesus” book.
 Melt my heart.

Worth mentioning: This week's memory verse is from
John 3:36 "Whoever believes in
the Son, Has eternal life."
(we do short versions in Cubbies.)
We ran that through a few times and
Wiggly asks(pointing at the sun): "But Mama we don't believe in the sun do we?
Ah! He is processing these things at such a young age!

Embrace the camera

10/14/13

This week I ran across a blog whose author was doing a 5 day project called “embrace the camera” challenge. This involves including yourselves in the pictures with your kids/loved ones. Mostly for posterity's sake because let's face it, us mamas have thousands of pictures of our kids (in my case, my kid) but barely a handful of us in the picture with our kids.
I decided to join in on the fun. I should mention, the blog's author referenced to
who passed away shortly after she encouraged everybody else out there to do a similar project.

So each day has a theme.

Day 1: Smiles

 LOL! I love my son!
This is all the smile he could muster. We took this while waiting for
PJ and GM to get a horse up to be ridden. You see, Wiggly had a date to ride with cousin S. Man he was super duper excited to get on with the ride!
So we tried a second one... LOL!
Suffice it to say, he loved the horse ride albeit a short ride.

I decided to modify on the project a little bit by taking a family picture each day also. Well, I already had planned on taking a family picture this past Monday to send to Bebe Boder but I thought it might be fun to have a family photo op every day for 5 days.

I also thought to include a picture of Wiggly and his Daddy every day. This is SOOC. I love the lighting on this one. I wish I would have stuck with this setting for our family pic but I fell victim to my own need to keep changing settings.

Day 2: Making memories
(a picture with you and your child doing what your child loves to do the most)

My son is enamored with playing with blocks these days. It is absolutely fun to watch and listen to him create machinery with his blocks.
  Our home made combine.

Daddy decided to join in on the fun

  How convenient!

A quick family picture followed!

Day 3: Every day moment
 (routine part of your day)

Breakfast for two is pretty much a staple in our house every morning.
  Our oatmeal and raisin smiles!

Then comes dishes.
Hopefully this can be a Mommy and son daily routine. For now,
it's pretty much mine.

Wiggly does help rinse about once every other day.
Can't beat that.

I didn't have to drag Wiggly's Daddy into this picture... thank goodness. I was on the highest step of a stool outside, wind blowing, me sneezing and coughing like crazy.

Cooking is on Daddy's daily routine.

 Usn's all set for AWANA.
A family Wednesday night routine.

Him holding a scraper for a family op, not such a routine!

Day 4: Creative
Creative isn't in my vocabulary. But here goes.

Our smiling faces melded into one using the multiple exposure feature in my camera.

Multiple exposures, 3 pictures. I debated over the tree vs the sky as the third layer.
I should have done the sky.
The other option would have been to take a picture of the tree first, then him on my back, then the kiss.

  For posterity.

I was glad I took my camera when we took a walk to the creek in the afternoon. The creek is our number one outdoor all season entertainment.

It's only fitting that we get a picture of us together at the creek.

  Our shadows together that is.

Daddy and son moment.

Silhouette was the only creative thing I could think of for our family. This was probably the quickest
photo op we did of us... Daddy had food on the grill the same time we were doing this.
Thank goodness
for self timers with the capability of up to 9 (yes, nine!) series of pictures in one set up. I set this up for a series of 4 in hopes of getting 2-3 good ones.

I did not however plan for this one... my favorite out of the four.

Day 5: Faces

As you can see, I took it literally :)

Wiggly and his Daddy and what's left of T's face.

I had to go in to work the last day of the project.

This was the quickest way I could think of to do a family
portrait.

I put UD to work.

  I love his sleeping face.
I couldn't help but take one more for the final day.

Had great fun doing this project!
I need to do this more often!
