A season of paperwork, a season of waiting, a season of blessings. Welcome to the beginning of a new season for us - parenting. I have created this blog for friends and family to follow us in Seoul Korea where we meet and hold our son, forever. Lord, thank you for this blessing to love this guy.Give us the wisdom to raise him to claim you for his Lord and Savior. When tough times come, may we look back to this waiting period and thank you for preparing us for tough times ahead. In Jesus' name.
Starting
with today's: (1/17/13) heard PJ asking Wiggly if it was GM he heard calling
for Wiggly. Wiggly's
response: “eh Mommy Pa John” PJ: “Oh Mommy ok.” Wiggly: “My
Mommy Pa John.” Ahhh! Music to my ears.
Yesterday
on the way to town we met the “grater guy” working with the
gravel on the road. Wiggly: “What's he doing Mommy?” Mommy: He's
grating the road buddy; fixing the road.” Wiggly: “For me Mommy?”
HA!!! Even Daddy had to say something on this one: “you're
not self-centered or anything are you buddy?” Mommy: “Yeah Buddy,
for you, me and everybody else who goes on this road.”
For
a while now, he holds on to my hand or hands when I ride in the back
of Scammie right next to him. When he first did it, we didn't have
his buddy “T” and I figured he just needed something else to hold
on. Well, since that time, “T” or not, he will ask to hold my
hand while riding. Sahweetness!
Christmas
2011, he literally could not stay away from the Christmas tree – he
was going to grab a hold of that candy cane no matter how high up on
the tree it was. Christmas 2012, he got into only one half of a candy
cane before coming to show me what he had done. Every other time, he
came and asked permission to eat a “candy cake” before getting
one. I put couple of candy canes in his stocking and what does he do?
He hung both of it on the Christmas tree to wait for Mommy. My boy is
growing up. No broken ornament
balls either this past Christmas! 2011 was a completely different
story. This Christmas he helped me decorate the tree.
If
he's not talking, Wiggly can be heard humming or singing to the tune
of: Little Teapot, Hark
the Herald Angels (which he's renamed as “Newborn King"), Zacheus
was a Little Man, and, Stand Up, Stand Up for “Jesa.” When he has
the inkling, he will ask to hear “Eiei-o”
on the stereo. When he doesn't quite know a song, he will ask for
Mommy to start the song or “ching Mommy.” He's fond of Itsy bitsy
spider and a couple of other library songs we learned. For about a
week or so now, he's been adlibing on some of the songs like: “Stand
up, stand up for Mommy!” Or standup, stand up for Appa!” The
cutest thing is the Pat a Cake song. “ Mark it with a “B” for
“bebe boder” and me!” Seriously! I wish I had that on video.
Once I tried substituting it with his name and I heard an insistent
“NO!” “Bebe boder and me” Mommy!
Wiggly
has picked up some of my uh quirks – like smell food before eating
– he doesn't do it very often but I've seen him do it; he then says
“yucky Mommy” if he thinks it is. It's inevitable that he'll be
doing that in somebody else' house...ugh! So far the worst “incident”
is when he went to go hug someone and he turns to me and says, “ he
yucky Mommy!” Oi! Wiggly does have a pretty good sense of smell. He
will normally sniff the air when he smells something and ask “what
dat I mell Mommy?” And if I can't understand what he's trying to
ask me, he'll sniff really loud.
Wiggly
has also picked up “nah” - a word I've picked back up since we've
had Wiggly. It's from my dialect which mostly means “now.” Like
he now says “better nah Mommy” or “am
yarm nah Mommy” (I'm warm nah Mommy.) I think it's so cute. He's
also picked up “obey
right now.” The other day, I was playing around and trying to get
his buddy “T” off the bed. Well Wiggly wanted to get T for
himself of course and tried to fend Mommy off – to no avail. So
finally he goes, “obey Mommy!” I tried some more, and he goes,
“obey right now!” HA!!!!
Wiggly
now sleeps on a twin bed that's very close to the floor. He has
embraced sleeping on his “bunk bed” so well. He thinks it's his
bunk bed anyway. It's actually his cousin's. He now calls his crib,
“Bebe boder's bed.” It's funny we started him off with sleeping
on the full size bed with the trundle bed right next to it in case he
fell out. And he did – fall off. He hasn't ever fallen out of the
trundle bed... weird.
We're
training him to put on his underwear and pants by himself – when
successful, he is known to say, “Yay!” and applauds himself.
“Good job” can be heard every once in a while too.And when he does have trouble, he is known to either uh, get frustrated and say "I can't" or on a more optimistic day say, "come on pants."
“Good
job!” That's right, he knows when to say “good job.” He's even
said “good job Mommy!” The cutest one was when we went sledding
with the cousins. Cousin M sled down
and crashed, and posed for the video and Wiggly went over to his
cousin, gave him a hug and goes “good job Atah!”
I've
not gotten into the habit of writing down new words learned but he's
definitely picked up so many – don't believe I can even count them
anymore. The most popular phrase these days are: What you doing?
Where you going? He likes to use the words tonight and today any time
he gets a chance. Yesterday is “yet-t-day.” After is “upper”
He actually talks in sentences now – for several weeks now really.
Some of the words may not be as clear but he can make himself be
understood.
One
day while we were riding in the car, UD swerved or something, I
gasped and Wiggly goes: “What happen Mommy? Daddy diving (driving)
too “pass” (fast)?” When we're in the Jetta.
Wiggly can normally feel the acceleration and is known to say: “Daddy
going “pass” (fast).
At
almost 3yrs old, Wiggly is known to watch “Barnie Miller” and
“12o'clock high” - PJ and GM's shows. Not sure what he likes in
Barnie Miller other than to listen to PJ laugh. He
likes the airplanes on GM's show. He does ask to watch either “Polli”
or “Pororo” on Daddy's phone. Movies that he watches on the
computer: Thomas and friends and occasionally Barney.
Well, if I were smart, I should record Wigglyisms more often so I don't forget a tidbit and not have such a long post but, I doubt that's going to happen.
Stumbled upon this Steven Curtis Chapman song: "Meant to Be"... love it.
Today
we had a great 2hours of play day in the creek. Temp was just above
50degrees... much improvement from 30degrees or lower! First you rode
on your vroom-vroom to say hello to “your tractor” (one of PJ's
farm equipment), and get up on one of the haybales and throw straw at
Mommy. Then we played hide and seek around the haybales until you
said “nina” (enough). So then we trotted on to the creek and you
showed Mommy the spot where we sledded just a couple weeks ago with
your cousins. You showed Mommy the exact spot where you ramped off a
couple rocks and landed safely on to the creek bed. Memorable moment!
Today that “ramp” made for a nice pretend “tar” (car) for
you. You found a stick for a steering wheel and we made a couple
trips to go get “mook” (milk) and i-kee cone (ice-cream). You
also made us walk to “Wally wold” (Wally world) to “ick a”
“ta” (pick up stuff). In between our trips you were also picking
up wood for our fire in the wood stove. You also rolled your steering
wheel stick that had become your shovel – shoveling snow in the
tractor! HA! This is when Mommy kicked herself for not bringing her
camera. You had such great time playing on the gravel/mud/rocks/cow
poop you even invited mom to join you in your tractor/car and have
you and me drive. Every once in a while you'd get out of the car,
pick up a couple rocks and throw rocks into what has become just a
puddle of water in the creek. Then you'd go back to playing with the
mud/gravel and whatever else was on that pile. Then you decided it
was time gather up more “ticks” (sticks) for Papa John's wood and
we ventured out farther into woods and you started hauling wood
(sticks)on your R shoulder like the big guys do. Boy did I ever kick
myself again for not having anything to record that moment. And then
you wanted to ride the “hickey” (horsey.) And Mommy said, we
don't have a horsey. And you begged to differ and pointed to a tree
laying on the ground that had the makings of a very nice horsey!
Mommy, how could you miss such a nice “hickey!” So you found a
nice spot to sit on and on you went with your horsey ride going....
“tigtigidig tigidig!” Then Mommy remembered Grandma's horsey ride
song and you liked the “buck, buck, buck!” part where Mommy
really pushed on thetree
hard to try and buck you off. But like a true cowboy, you hung on
tight and rode your horsey like a champ! You liked that so much you
asked “aden” (again) twice more. Mommy obliged of course. It was
absolutely fun to hear your laughter and squeals of joy going on the
horsey ride. You even pretended that Micah was there and you gave
Micah a ride and you said Micah enjoyed his ride too. Buddy, you just
melt my heart! Gonna have to ask PJ to spare the tree so we could use
it again and again for hickey rides. Off to our next adventure...
“ick a wood” (pick up wood.) So we did until Mommy found another
possible horsey ride (another fallen tree laying across the creek).
It didn't turn out to be as great a ride as the first one but you
found a nice tree bark and used it for your saddle. I didn't even
know you'd picked up on the word saddle! But you have and you picked
a good spot for your saddle and rode the horsey a little longer until
you said, “nina.” By that time, Mommy thought it was about time
to head back home. So we headed back on to the brome field and was
surprised to see Daddy heading our way. So of course, you had to show
Daddy your “tar.” This was my excuse to grab my camera, so I did.
By the time I got back to the creek you and Daddy had turned your car
into a nice looking “port” (fort.)
Daddy couldn't stay long –
thing called work.
Some
true arms hugs and some true lip kisses were thrown around and it was
back to work for Daddy.
You too went back to working on your “port.”
A
tent inside your fort. Said tent was promptly "boken"
(broken) ....
and
transformed into candles and we sang Happy birthday to you and you
practiced blowing your candles once again...
Show
me those muddy hands!
You
have this absolutely adorable habit of brushing your hands together
anytime your hands get too dirty/muddy.
Showing
Mommy your Kung fu move with a "hi-wack!"
You
obliged Mommy by getting on your “hickey” for a picture –

eating?
“Tramble

“I
“choot” you Mommy!” Oh! So first you fatten me up, then choot

Yeap,
your outfit along with your shoes got thoroughly muddy. You had a
blast!
