6 months home!

Today! And last week, we GOT IT! Our consent to adoption from our agency! That means....... we go to court soon to finalize Wiggly's adoption. THAT means we get to be his official parents FOREVER! THAT means Wiggly gets to be officially OUR SON, FOREVER! THAT means he gets to be a US citizen. And THAT means we have to deal with USCIS one more time for one more paper work for Wiggly. But that's another story.

I thought of jotting down some of our firsts and joys with Mr Wiggly before we forgot all of them so here goes:

he holds out his hands to be held when we say let's pray (before meals)

he squints his eyes for a second or two and peeps out of them when we say let's pray (one of these days I'm gonna get that on camera)

he has now perfected the act of saying please - he claps his hands and smiles really big... how can anyone refuse that?

before when things got quiet, I would find him into cabinets and no-no stuff. Now, when things go quiet, I find him in his book corner, paging through a book or so

just recently, he pulled me close to him and gave me such a huge hug! With a smile on his face of course!

when we ask for "lovins," he opens his mouth and gives us a french kiss! Ha! He has been doing this for a few months now. It used to be we would say bohpoh (Korean for kiss) and he'd french kiss us. But now he understands lovins and kiss in English

his receptive language just has gotten so much better. One day, I was sort of talking to myself wondering where his bib was. He turned around and walked away and came back to me bringing his bib over! And here I was getting ready to put on my stern, tough voice because he didn't come to me when I said "come here!"

the other day, I told him to go brush his teeth and he RAN over to the bathroom where we brush his teeth! Seriously! That about floored myself and UD!

it is a little bit of work getting his teeth brushed but he tolerates it only to be able to play with his
Debrox bottle (earwax softener)

seriously this guy loves the softener! He takes it with a smile - more like a laugh. He is hilarious!

We are still waiting on vocabulary explosion, but we are definitely hearing more English words from him like: clap, peekaboo, choo-choo, tchu for “shoes,” boo for “ball,” and,
what sounds like Amen,

he is very much into sounds – animal sounds and now trying to sound out “vroom,” and “tick tock”

he now points to his nose, ears, cheeks and feet when asked, and raises his hands when you ask him where his hands are

he loves going to story time at the library. He stays mostly quiet and just observes at story time but then comes home and does the actions to the songs we've learned. The last two times we went to the library, he could not wait to get inside the story room. He runs to the door, looks back at me, and beckons with his hand and says “hee-hee” for “here”

he “sings” to himself after I start the song off. Trying to guess what song he wants sung is a little tricky but I manage

We've had our “first snow” with him and boy was it a revelation! He ran back and forth between our patio door and his bedroom to look through the window, clapping and jabbering away. So I had to take him outside to enjoy it. I opened the garage door, he paused for a second or two just looking, then ran out and held out his hands trying to catch the snowflakes. It was just so stinking cute! I don't have that on film unfortunately. Had to make sure he didn't run out to the road without me. Priorities have definitely changed in this neck of the woods.

he loves jumping on the trampoline – mostly on cousin J.'s shoulders or held by him.

We've had our first thanksgiving with Wiggly. He did really well and I was just blessed surrounded with family. He also played on real drums for the first time ever, this Thanksgiving. That was a sight to see thanks to UJ!

he LOVES Elmo. Part of that may be that, Elmo is what I normally borrow for him because it has a lot of singing. He's not entertained with “movies” without singing.

And for the priceless moment: Wiggly came home with an Elmo balloon the other night – no occasion really.
Just a Daddy and son moment.

We are just so thankful for this bundle of Wiggliness!
